My novels and illustrations were created without the use of A.I.
(Although, the current use of A.I. is as much Artificial Intelligence as those hoverboards that have wheels instead of, you know, hover technology; but calling them Advanced-Search-Engines-That-Scrape-Data-To-Steal-Pieces-Of-Works-In-Order-To-Slap-Them-Together-Haphazardly-And-Try-To-Pass-It-Off-As-Original-Works-Of-Art
[or A.S.E.T.S.D.T.S.P.O.W.I.O.T.S.T.T.H.A.T.T.P.I.O.A.O.W.O.A., if you will] didn't quite roll off the tongue as much. By the by, this is in reference to the Generative A.I. programs used to replicate writing and art. There are other spaces, such as the medical field, in which this type of technology could be beneficial.)
Creativity and art are an essential part of the human experience. The act of making, with intention and meaning and purpose behind it, is so important for communication and artistic expression. Handmade works with emotional connection behind it just means so much more. The effort behind making the piece is the entire point. If art takes no effort, creativity, or overall purpose, then all you will get is low-effort, unimaginative, meaningless slop that just gets thrown out as content for content's sake. Not to mention, comparing professionally-crafted artwork to Generative A.I. is like comparing a juicy cut of medium-rare porterhouse to a frozen, mystery meat, TV dinner. You'll still be fed, but geez, it is not the same.
All that is why I exclusively use free, open-source software that does not train A.I. with your stolen data and hard work.
